1. Complete Unit #4 A Message For Father (pages 7~8).

i) Listen to the MP3 file for this unit.

ii) On your electronic template, word-process the two sentences provided by Richard and Cylinda at the beginning of the unit. If you prefer, you may complete your homework on the paper form provided.

iii) On your electronic template, word-process all of the “listening” vocabulary as spelled out by Julia, the Chinese translator. If you prefer, you may complete your homework on the paper form provided.

iv) If you want to e-mail your homework, send it to winstontaiwan@gmail.com no later than 11:59 p.m. on 2010/09/24. If you prefer to complete your homework on the paper form provided, bring it to class on 2010/09/25.

v) While listening to the MP3 file, pay attention to Richard and Cylinda’s conversation and keep in mind the following questions:

Prepare for a spelling dictation quiz for ie/i-e/igh/y—letter words: Word List #3 & 3a: pie, life, fry, night, high, dive, wife, five, cry, tie, light, pipe, bite, fight, die, ride, fly, shy, shine, bright. Get out your pencil and paper. Give yourself a rehearsal test. Practice often so that you may get a perfect score on 2010/09/25.
