1. Complete Unit #5 Celebrate Arbor Day: Plant A Tree (pages 14~18)

i) Listen to the MP3 file for this unit.

ii) Word-process each of the “listening” vocabulary on your electronic template as spelled out by Frances, the Chinese translator.

iii) In your own words, word-process one sentence using any five of the “listening” vocabulary contextually. As always, do not use a dictionary.

iv) Listen to all 14 of the Vocabulary Sentences provided near the end of the unit just before the Listening Comprehension Questions.

v) Word-process any two vocabulary sentences on your electronic template.

vi) E-mail to winstontaiwan@gmail.com no later than 11:59 p.m. on 2008/10/16.

vii) While listening to the MP3 file, pay attention to Sean and Angela’s conversation and keep in mind the following questions:

1. What kind of sports league does the teacher mention?

2. What color of shirt is the teacher wearing?

3. What does the teacher talk about looking for while driving?

4. What does your father do to relax according to the teacher?

5. What does the teacher mention that might have holes?

viii) Using your MP3 file, listen to the passage repeatedly (over and over again) and read aloud the passage until you master your recitation with perfect pronunciation and perfect fluency. You will recite the passage in class on 2008/10/18. Your recitation will be recorded and analyzed. Practice! Practice! Practice!

2. Examine the hidden picture puzzle, Teddy Bear Picnic. Identify and color the 15 objects embedded in the image. Bring your hidden picture puzzle to the class on 2008/10/18 to discuss your findings. Be prepared to describe the location of each object using appropriate prepositional phrases.

1. Match the correct responses to Test#2 GEPT Rehearsal Test (Part 2 Reading Section) against your own responses. Reflect upon the questions that still puzzle you. You are welcome to bring them forward to discuss them during our next class on 2008/10/18.

2. Complete Unit #20 Think Twice Before Getting The Mark (pages 96~98).

i) Listen to the MP3 file for this unit.

ii) Word-process each “listening” vocabulary on your electronic template as spelled out by Frances, the Chinese translator.
