2. Preview Unit #5 At School (pages 19~22)

3. Listen to CD#1, tracks 46~70 repeatedly.

5. Bring your textbook, blue printing notebook, and plastic folder to class on 2008/11/01.

1. Complete Unit #7 April Fool’s Day

(pages 26~28)

i) Listen to the MP3 file for this unit.

ii) Word-process each of the “listening” vocabulary on your electronic template as spelled out by Frances, the Chinese translator.

iii) In your own words, word-process one sentence using any five of the “listening” vocabulary contextually. As always, do not use a dictionary.

iv) Listen to all 10 of the Vocabulary Sentences provided near the end of the unit just before the Listening Comprehension Questions.

v) Word-process any five vocabulary sentences on your electronic template.

vi) E-mail ii) + iii) + v) to winstontaiwan@gmail.com no later than 11:59 p.m. on 2008/10/30.

vii) While listening to the MP3 file, pay attention to David and Angela’s conversation and keep in mind the following questions:

1. What does the teacher say is salty?

2. What does the teacher talk about switching?

3. In the example, what does the foolish person do instead of studying?

4. What does the teacher say is important to many westerners?

5. What does the teacher put on the other teacher’s pillow?

2. Complete Writing Exercise #1 on page 89. You are welcome to word-process your exercise and E-mail it to winstontaiwan@gmail.com no later than 11:59 p.m. on 2008/10/30.

3. Examine the hidden picture puzzle, Spy School. Identify and color the 12 objects embedded in the image. Bring your hidden picture puzzle to the class on 2008/11/01 to discuss your findings. 1. Complete Exercise #4 in the back of the textbook (pages 31~40). Use your MP3 CD for pages 35~40. Play the CD only once. Please put your responses (A, B, C, D) on the answer sheet as well as in your textbook. We will correct your responses on 2008/11/01.

2. Complete Unit #1 Painting The Town Red (pages 1~3).

i) Listen to the MP3 file for this unit.

ii) Word-process each “listening” vocabulary on your electronic template as spelled out by Jo, the Chinese translator.

iii) In your own words, word-process one sentence using each of the “listening” vocabulary contextually. As always, do not use a dictionary.

vi) Complete the Part 2 Communicative Interaction Exercise on page 3. Self-correct the exercise with your MP3 file.

3. Examine the hidden picture puzzle, The Foal and Duckling. Identify and color the 14 objects embedded in the image. Bring your hidden picture puzzle to the class on 2008/11/01 to discuss your findings. Be prepared to describe the location of each object using appropriate prepositional phrases.
