4. Play and listen to CD#1, tracks 4~40 repeatedly.

6. Bring your textbook, blue printing notebook, and plastic folder to class on 2008/09/13.

2. Complete Unit #2 Blind Date (pages 4~6)

i) Listen to the MP3 file for this unit.

ii) Word-process each of the “listening” vocabulary on your electronic template as spelled out by Cathy, the Chinese translator.

iii) In your own words, word-process one sentence using any six of the “listening” vocabulary contextually. As always, do not use a dictionary.

iv) Listen to all 13 of the Vocabulary Sentences provided near the end of the unit just before the Listening Comprehension Questions.

v) Word-process any three vocabulary sentences on your electronic template.

vi) E-mail to winstontaiwan@gmail.com no later than 11:59 p.m. on 2008/09/11.

vii) While listening to the MP3 file, pay attention to David and Cathy’s conversation and keep in mind the following questions:

1. What does the teacher think Cindy and Albert would do if they didn’t meet each other?

2. Which movie does the teacher think is pretty long?

3. What would the teacher ask if she went on a blind date?

4. What does the teacher think about the parental guidance movies?

5. How old does the teacher say he was when he started dating?

2. Examine the hidden picture puzzle, Sidewalk Fun. Identify and color the 14 objects embedded in the image. Word-process the names of each of the 14 objects on your electronic template. Word-process a prepositional phrase that describes the location of any 5 of the 14 objects. E-mail your completed form to winstontaiwan@gmail.com no later than 11:59 p.m. on 2008/09/11. Bring your hidden picture puzzle to the class on 2008/09/13 to discuss your findings.

vi) Complete the Listening Comprehension Questions on page 82 and self-correct the exercise with the MP3 file.

2. Word-process a 100~150 word expository (composition) about something memorable you did during this summer vacation. E-mail to winstontaiwan@gmail.com no later than 11:59 p.m. on 2008/09/11.

3. Examine the hidden picture puzzle, Mrs. Turtle Makes a Shopping List. Identify and color the 16 objects embedded in the image. Word-process the names of each of the 16 objects on your electronic template. Word-process a prepositional phrase that describes the location of any 5 of the 16 objects.
