1. Review Unit #3 On the Farm (pages 9~12)

2. Preview Review 1 (page 13~14)

3. Play and listen to CD#1, tracks 29~45 repeatedly.

4. 請寫藍色字母練習本上作業,** milk ** mop ** mother ** net ** night ** nurse ** nose ** night ** mouse ** newspaper ** ,每個字各寫3遍。

5. Bring your textbook, blue printing notebook, and plastic folder to class on 2008/09/27.

1. Please bring Book A, Part 2 textbook to class on 2008/09/27. We still have to correct Exercise #5, pages 105~106, questions 31~45

2. Complete Unit #3 A Virtual Pet (pages 7~9)

i) Listen to the MP3 file for this unit.

ii) Word-process each of the “listening” vocabulary on your electronic template as spelled out by Gillian, the Chinese translator.

iii) In your own words, word-process one sentence using each of the “listening” vocabulary contextually. As always, do not use a dictionary.

iv) Listen to all 10 of the Vocabulary Sentences provided near the end of the unit just before the Listening Comprehension Questions.

v) Word-process any four vocabulary sentences on your electronic template.

vi) E-mail to winstontaiwan@gmail.com no later than 11:59 p.m. on 2008/09/25.

vii) While listening to the MP3 file, pay attention to Sean and Jody’s conversation and keep in mind the following questions:

1. What did the teacher do during the Chinese New Year?

2. Why does the teacher say that some people don’t have real pets?

3. What kind of clothing does not fit the teacher?

4. About how long will the teacher stay in Taiwan?

5. What does the teacher say you should guess if you don’t know the answer?

2. Examine the hidden picture puzzle, Creative Bears. Identify and color the 14 objects embedded in the image. Word-process the names of each of the 14 objects on your electronic template. Word-process a prepositional phrase that describes the location of any 3 of the 14 objects. E-mail your completed form to winstontaiwan@gmail.com no later than 11:59 p.m. on 2008/09/25. Bring your hidden picture puzzle to the class on 2008/09/13 to discuss your findings.

1. What did the teachers say might happen to you in the future?

2. What example did the teachers use to explain “picking out”?

3. What did the teachers say might affect a computer?

4. What did the teachers say someone might go into?

5. What did the teachers say about epidemiologists?

vi) Complete the Listening Comprehension Questions on page 87 and self-correct the exercise with the MP3 file.

3. Word-process a 100~150 word expository (composition) about something memorable you did during this summer vacation. E-mail to winstontaiwan@gmail.com no later than 11:59 p.m. on 2008/09/25.

4. Examine the hidden picture puzzle, Tugboat Ride. Identify and color the 13 objects embedded in the image. Bring your hidden picture puzzle to the class on 2008/09/27 to discuss your findings. Using appropriate prepositional phrases, be prepared to describe the location of each object.

5. Complete Lesson #30 in 504 Absolutely Essential Words. Bring your completed exercise to the next class on 2008/09/27.
