Watch this episode enough times so that you become familiar with the story.

2. The answer key for today’s hidden picture contains 27 items: mop, iron, sock, boat, shoe, comb, vase, swan, spur, bottle, banana, button, penguin, lollipop, doughnut, mushroom, sombrero, coffeepot, spaceship, wristwatch, ski cap, duck’s head, little fish, candy cane, cowboy hat, pair of shorts, pair of binoculars.

3. Complete Unit #8 Foods In History 2: A Smuggler’s Secret (pages 45~49).

i) Listen to the MP3 file for this unit.

ii) Word-process each “listening” vocabulary on your electronic template as spelled out by Julia, the Chinese translator.

iii) In your own words, word-process one sentence using any five of the “listening” vocabulary contextually. As always, do not use a dictionary.

iv) Listen to all 15 of the “vocabulary sentences” provided near the end of the unit just before the Listening Comprehension Questions.

v) Word-process the following five “vocabulary sentences” on your electronic template: #3, #6, #8, #10, and #13.

vi) E-mail ii) + iii) + v) to winstontaiwan@gmail.com no later than 11:59 p.m. on 2009/08/06.

vii) While listening to the MP3 file, pay attention to Richard and Lea’s conversation and keep in mind the following questions:

viii) Complete the Reading Comprehension Questions on page 46.

ix) Complete the exercises on pages 48~49.

x) You are welcome to give yourself a spelling dictation quiz of the vocabulary list. Press the link below:

xi) Using your MP3 file, listen to the passage on page 45 repeatedly (over and over) and read aloud the passage repeatedly until you master your recitation with perfect pronunciation and perfect fluency. You will recite the passage in class on 2009/08/08. Your recitation will be recorded and analyzed. You will recite the passage by reading it the first time, then by memory the second time. Practice! Practice! Practice!
