4. Complete Unit #5 APenny Saved Is A Penny Earned (pages 21~25).

i) Listen to the MP3 file for this unit.

ii) Word-process each of the “listening” vocabulary on your electronic template as spelled out by Frances, the Chinese translator. Spell each of the words regardless if they are spelled out once or twice.

5. Examine the hidden picture puzzle, The Zoo. Identify and color the 14 animals embedded in the image. Bring your hidden picture puzzle to the class on 2009/08/29 to discuss your findings. Be prepared to describe the location of the objects using appropriate prepositional phrases.

6. The answer key for today’s hidden picture contains 13 items: bull, toothbrush, rabbit, pizza, weasel, pencil, book, hamster’s head, crescent moon, spoon, cardinal’s head, hot dog, mouse.

8. Look at Picture Story#11 – The Little Mouse comic strips and the accompanying story. Each letter is the first letter of a word and each line represents one single sentence. Each comic matches one sentence. Therefore, there are twelve comics with twelve corresponding sentences. Use the key words below to help guide you in writing the story. Note that all of the words are in lower case, yet some of them will begin with capital letters when you compose your story. Some of the words are used more than once.
