1. Complete Unit #3 The Chinese Calendar 3 (pages 14~17).

i) Listen to the MP3 file for this unit.

ii) Word-process each “listening” vocabulary on your electronic template as spelled out by Maggie, the Chinese translator.

iii) In your own words, word-process two sentences using each of the “listening” vocabulary contextually. As always, do not use a dictionary.

iv) Listen to all 12 of the “vocabulary sentences” provided near the end of the unit just before the Listening Comprehension Questions.

v) Word-process the following five “vocabulary sentences” on your electronic template: #1, #4, #8, #9 and #11.

vi) E-mail ii) + iii) + v) to winstontaiwan@gmail.com no later than 11:59 p.m. on 2009/05/21.

vii) While listening to the MP3 file, pay attention to Nathan and Ashley’s conversation and keep in mind the following questions:

01. What will you have if you spend time with monkeys?

02. Where is the teacher’s friend not shy to be alone?

03. What does sporting mean?

04. What is suggested that one can do if it rains?

05. Which animals can get sunburned?

06. Which two colors do not match?

viii) Complete the Reading Comprehension Questions on page 15.

ix) Complete the exercises on pages 16~17.

2. Look at Story#6 –Phone box comic strips and the accompanying story. Each letter is the first letter of a word and each line represents one single sentence. Each comic matches one sentence. Therefore, there are nine comics with nine corresponding sentences.

i) Word-process your nine sentences telling the story using the present simple tense

ii) E-mail i) to winstontaiwan@gmail.com as an attachment in WORD no later than 11:59 p.m. on 2009/05/21.

3. Examine the hidden picture puzzle, A Picnic Favorite. Identify and color the 14 objects embedded in the image. Bring your hidden picture puzzle to the class on 2009/05/23 to discuss your findings. Be prepared to describe the location of the objects using appropriate prepositional phrases.
