2009/09/05 Saturday—8:00~10:00 GEPT Intermediate 全民英檢中級入門班


1. Complete Unit #6 Tomb Sweeping Day (pages 26~30).
i) Listen to the MP3 file for this unit.
ii) Word-process each of the “listening” vocabulary on your electronic template as spelled out by Cathy and the male speaker, the Chinese translators. Spell each of the words regardless if they are spelled once or twice.
iii) In your own words, word-process one sentence using any eight of the “listening” vocabulary contextually. As always, do not use a dictionary.
iv) E-mail (ii) + (iii) to winstontaiwan@gmail.com no later than 11:59 p.m. on 2009/09/10. Accordingly, any submissions received after the deadline will be filed in your digital portfolio but may not necessarily be corrected, discussed or analyzed.
v) While listening to the MP3 file, pay attention to Jeff and Patricia’s conversation and keep in mind the following questions:
01. Which type of people did the teacher not say are your ancestors?
02. Who did the teacher say you could honor with a present?
03. What kind of fire did the teacher talk about starting?
04. When did the teacher say many people like to burn incense?
05. What did the teacher say you might need to have repaired?
vi) Complete and self-correct the Listening Comprehension Questions on page 27 with your MP3 file.
vii) Complete and self-correct the Communicative Interaction Exercises on pages 29~30 with your MP3 file.
2. Complete Word Review #1 in 504 Absolutely Essential Words. Bring your completed exercise to the next class on 2009/09/12.
3. Review the six-page conversation handout about Family. Please bring it back to class on 2009/09/12.
4. Look at Picture Story#11 – The Little Mouse comic strips.
i) Word-process a paragraph using the past tense containing at least 75 words
ii) E-mail i) as an attachment to winstontaiwan@gmail.com no later than 11:59 p.m. on 2009/09/10.
5. The answer key for today’s first hidden picture contains 16 items: pea pod, sewing needle, chicken, cat, pitcher, iron, football, spool of thread, flower pot, bowling pin, saltshaker, sea gull, bottle, ladle, acorn, harmonica.
6. The answer key for today’s second hidden picture contains 14 items: bear, lion, seal, python, vulture, leopard, gorilla, giraffe, elephant, kangaroo, alligator, chimpanzee, rhinoceros, hippopotamus.
